I recognize these phrases in the way I speak to my tween son and agree that they’re very effective. However, they are good with daughters, as well. 😉

I’m a mom of 4 boys & 5 grandsons. Excellent article and I wish all parents could implement these phrases. The world would be a better place.

I noticed that go-to phrases 9 and 12 were the same. That's not okay because you promised 20 and listed only 19. I appreciate how you offered so many useful phrases and I'd like to hear at least one more. What's your plan to fix this? How can we make this right? I know this is challenging, yet I trust you to do the right thing. So use your words... What's the one small step you can take in the right direction? What is the one small step you can take in the right direction? (Oh, wait. I already asked that.)

I use so many of these phrases on a daily basis, they're especially helpful when delivered "low and slow." Thanks for such a great roundup!
